I spend part of the day making plans and appointments. I made an appointment for April 30th with Eirene Cremations Inc. to preplan our cremations.
"The Eirene care team will pick up your loved one from their place of passing. While your loved one is safely stored in our partner facilities, we manage all necessary paperwork and provide proof of death certificates signed by a licensed funeral director.
Once all required paperwork and permits have been completed, we will proceed with the cremation. Each cremation is dignified, private and individual. Following the cremation, we will hand-deliver the remains to the executor or next of kin.
From here, the process is done, and you and your family can be assured that your loved one has had the best and most dignified care available."
Their price is $2700.00 + tax per cremation.
I ordered an heirloom vintage-style cotton nightgown called "She Dreams, Ivory Vintage Sleepwear" from Modestly Yours to set aside for my own cremation. $101.99 - 20% off + shipping = $91.98 CAD.
I placed an order with TEMU for a new sofa cover and dog floor mat for the patio door entrance. Total $48.87.
I bought two new keyed-alike padlocks for our fence gates. $19.20 (paid w/ CT rewards).
I called Pavs Post, Fence and Deck Installation & Repair and two guys came over to give us an estimate for repairing our fence. $950.00. They're going to replace the posts, and re-use the panels.
I also contacted Tru-Green and purchased lawn care for this year. We'll get six weed and feed treatments, aerating and overseeding. $604.00. Dennis and I are getting too old to get down on our hands and knees to pull weeds.
I picked up two bags of Northern Biscuits for Tickles at PetValu. They are getting really expensive but they were on sale and for one day only I had an 20% off coupon. Reg. $7230 Total $58.96. And I picked up dog canned dog food at No Frills. $25.22. The price has gone up, again! And I bought as few groceries at Food Basics, $18.12.
Dennis did some tidying up in the garage and I did a bit of work on the backyard, raking and cutting down our tall ornamental grasses. We still have a lot more to do.
