Today's Journal
I mowed the backyard late this morning. At noon, our neighbour came over to trim the top of our hedge. First he helped get the platform down off the wall in the garage, and assemble it. It's extremely heavy. And then he did a beautiful job trimming the top of the hedge until it was nice and flat with a slightly rounded edge at the top. When he was done he helped me put the platform back in the garage way up high. From start to finish he was probably here for 2 hours. I continued to work in the yard while our neighbour worked on the hedge. Dennis and Tickles sat in the shade on the deck.
While Mike was still here Bruce from considerate cremations showed up at 1:30 pm to give us our documents to put in the safe. He was here for nearly half an hour talking to Dennis and discussing end of life stuff. It's a terrible subject to have to discuss but Dennis wanted to have everything in place for the inevitable. :(
After Bruce and Mike left, I spent a few more hours pruning shrubs and pulling weeds. I ran out of paper garden bags, and had quite a pile of leaves and twigs and weeds and nothing to put them in. So I gathered everything up and put it in the doggy/kiddy swimming pool. Thank goodness it's not going to rain tonight. I'll pick up some paper bags tomorrow and start stuffing them.
