Today's Journal

We had to be at the hospital before 9:15 a.m. this morning for Dennis's 4th immunotherapy treatment. There's always so much waiting. He sat in the chair with an IV in his arm with just saline solution for an hour and a half, while waiting for the pharmacy to mix up his immunotherapy drugs. Then the treatment itself takes 45 minutes plus an extra 15 minutes to do something they call "the flush". It basically runs more saline solution through the same bag to make sure they got all the immunotherapy drugs out.

The good thing is that Dennis hasn't had any of the nasty side effects (so far, anyway). The bad thing is that treatment days are time consuming and a bit tiring.

There is a guy there named Bob who volunteers in the chemo and radiation clinics, and he just wanders around taking orders for coffee or tea or cookies or water. He's super friendly, super kind and funny. Dennis asked for a cup of tea. Then he said Earl Gray if possible, lol. The guy said you can call it whatever you like but it's Tetley. Lol.

On the way home form the hospital we stopped at Walmart and I ran in to pick up his prescriptions. Dennis took a nap in the afternoon and I went out to run some more errands. I had to drop of paperwork at the Royal Bank for our financial planner, buy some wine at the LCBO, return a book to the library, and pick up a few things at Food Basics.

Later Dennis took the car and dropped out some donations for Good Will, and picked up a purchase from Canadian Tire. Just a bottle of ammonia that I got for free with bonus points.
